Editorial policy
Creative Music Journal aims to make clear, dependable writing about creative music-making and listening. We distinguish explanation from opinion and correct the record when we find an error.
Accuracy and clarity
We check names, terms and descriptions against appropriate source material before publication. Where a point is interpretive, we make that clear rather than presenting a reading as settled fact. We explain specialist language and avoid claims that reach beyond the evidence available to us.
Independence
Editorial choices are made for their relevance to readers. A commercial relationship does not guarantee coverage or a favourable view, and partners do not control editorial conclusions.
Corrections
If you believe an article contains an error, contact us with the article title, the detail in question and any useful supporting context. We review correction requests and update text when warranted; significant changes should be made clear to readers.
Partner material and illustrations
Sponsored or partner material is labelled so readers can distinguish it from independent editorial work. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; where this applies, the illustration is identified accordingly.
Music is made of choices
A closer listen can reveal how a musical idea becomes a performance. We explain the craft without assuming specialist knowledge.
